Show Nails

So my tour of my show ALCHEMY was due to start in Perth at Fringeworld so I wanted to paint the perfect show nails. They had to be right classy and have an element of gold. I went for full gold when I did the show in Edinburgh but I wanted to get a little jiggy with it this season.

So I out it out to the lords of Twitter and Facebook and gave everyone these options:

I used Chi Chi Blood drops with some gold nail decals I bought in the UK (& threw away the cover so I have no idea of the name but they aren't very good anyway so, meh...). It is a great way to use decals as you only use about half a pack (less if only tips). You just cut to shape and stick on, slap a top coat on and you're done!

This seemed to be the winner and look how lovely they look with my subtle glitter shoes in the background!

Photo shoot nails

I did a photo shoot for my new show recently so obviously I had to make my nails look purrrdy.

Here are my nails holding my subtle shoes. The photographer was Damian W Vincenzi (he is amazing and you should get in contact with him if you ever need photos for anything at all. Ever)

And here is me just after I had done the school run in full drag.

Make-up & hair was by the divine Miss Vanessa Belle. She is also amazeballs should you ever need to look real pretty...

Summer Asymmetry

I love these nails. You may have noticed a theme this summer for me in the pastels and asymmetry... I keep going back to it. I am also thinking of awesome nails for an upcoming photo shoot and I think a version of these nails is going to be the go. Maybe with added bling...

ps. I had just been building a sand castle boat  when I realised I hadn't taken a photo of these -  hence the sandy nails!

Sticky shapes

I saw an idea online (have a look at my pintrest page if you are interested in the source), using sellotape to create coloured shapes. So you literally paint your polish on the tape, wait to dry and then cut into funky shapes, stick on your painted nails randomly and then top coat. Easy & mega as! xx

Mini-mani ideas wheel

I have been working on some ideas for mini manis  - kids nail art. I am looking to manufacture or import non-toxic nail polish and get some proper kids nail art happening (not just poxy Barbie & Dora toxic awfulness) In these ones I used some nail polish and also tried using kids acrylic paint for the designs with top coat. They worked pretty well although in practice (on my mini guinea pig) they came off within the day... I'll keep trying.

Fluoro White Stripes

Unlike the kids of today fluoro isn't a hipster statement but rather a desperate attempt to recapture my misspent youth listening to Young MC & Monie Love and wearing bubble skirts and mismatched fluorescent socks. Hot.
